DIGNITAS : Professional League of Legends often has a good offseason, but this year’s has been especially exciting since an unexpected LCS organization is on the cusp of constructing a legitimate title challenger. League of Legends esports journalist Brieuc Seeger reports that Dignitas and IgNar, formerly of the Immortals and FlyQuest, have come to an oral agreement.
Dignitas, a bastion of mediocrity in the LCS since its 2020 return to top-flight North American League, is obviously trying to break any notions of where it should rank in the league by signing big name after big name to play for the organization in 2023.

It was announced earlier this week that former MAD Lions top laner Armut has finalized a verbal deal with Dignitas. Armut led MAD Lions to back-to-back LEC victories in 2021. Santorin, a former jungler for Team Liquid and future FlyQuest colleague of IgNar’s, and Jensen, a current Cloud9 mid laner, have both been mentioned as potential additions to the organization.
Both Armut and IgNar would be imported, leaving one position open for Canadian AD carry Trevor “Spawn” Kerr-Taylor.
Dignitas has been active in the esport since 2011, and the team made it all the way to Worlds in 2012. However, the organization has not been nearly as successful since then, and it was even demoted from the LCS in the spring of 2016 before being reinstated the following year. The franchised club entered the league in 2020, but has struggled since then, finishing no higher than sixth in the spring of 2021 and going winless (0-9) in each of the postseason’s three opportunities.

In his own career, IgNar has taken several unexpected turns that have made him a legend. Perhaps his most memorable moment was in the quarterfinals of the 2017 World Championship, when he and the EU LCS team Misfits Gaming almost defeated Faker and SK Telecom T1 with an unconventional Blitzcrank selection.
TEAM DIGNITAS

His 2018 LCK season for bbq Olivers ended in relegation, however his 2019 LEC season with FC Schalke 04 Esports was decent. After joining the legendary 2020 FlyQuest lineup, he went 3-3 at Worlds in a group alongside DRX and Top Esports and helped the team achieve back-to-back LCS titles. After almost upsetting the LCS balance of power with Evil Geniuses in 2021, IgNar took the spring of 2022 off and then joined for Immortals for the Summer Split.
