Minor lineup changes and the addition of coach Bai “rOtK” Fan have been made to Team Aster’s newly announced squad for the 2023 season of the Dota Pro Circuit.
This year’s finish in The International was Team Aster’s best ever. Although they suffered back-to-back losses in the Singapore Indoor Stadium stage, they were the only Chinese team to go to the finals weekend, placing fourth. They were swept by Team Liquid in the lower bracket finals and by Tundra Esports in the upper, who went on to win the tournament and the Aegis of Champions with a flawless upper bracket run.

Despite the team’s tremendous growth from the bottom four at TI10 to the top four at TI11, Team Aster will begin the next season with an entirely new squad.
Only the team’s middle player has been swapped out. Zeng “Ori” Jiaoyang, a 27-year-old mid laner, retired after The International 11. This opened up the position for a new player. Zhai “Xwy” Jingkai, a native of the Arian star sign, will soon assume his position.

Xwy isn’t a rookie player by any stretch of the imagination. He’s just a year younger than Ori, yet he’s already played professionally for three teams (EHOME, Keen Gaming, and Phoenix Gaming) before signing with Aster.Aries in the 2022 DPC year. With Keen Gaming, he made his TI debut last year. He has also competed at a few Minors and Majors throughout the course of his career.
